Choose Setup|Set Paras to bring up the model parameter setup dialog box for adjusting the model geometrical and mechanical parameters. This includes the following tab options:
Captions: Allow the user to define/modify the title and axis labels for the model.
Symmetry: Allow the user to select the symmetrical condition of the model and define the symmetrical lines for the model. The symmetry can also be accessed via the menu Setup|Symmetry and Speed Button Options.
XY-Ranges: defines the model x- and y-coordinate ranges and number of grids in each direction.
Properties: Defines the mechanical properties of intact rock (Young's modulus, Poisson's ratio, critical strain energy release rates GIc and GIIc), fracture properties (shear and normal stiffness, friction angle, cohesion) and far-field stresses of the model. Up to 10 different fracture properties can be given, each with a material index number (=1-10). Different fractures can be assigned with different fracture properties.
Frac. Init. Window: define an optional window for initial fractures.
Cycle: Define the maximum number of cycles. Each cycle often results in a propagation of one element length.
